Culture Assessment and Blueprinting for the Future.

With increased expectation in the market to create career ready graduates, coupled with an upcoming move to a new location and new ways of working, this leading Australian organisation was at a pivotal point for the business. Acknowledging the importance of this transition, the opportunity emerged to clearly define and optimise their culture to support high performance. We were engaged to conduct a culture diagnostic program, integrated with existing employee engagement diagnostics. Data was obtained from the Denison Organisational Culture Survey, alongside interviews with the Executive and Board. This culminated in a Culture Blueprint, which was brought to life through a Data-to-Action Workshop alongside the Senior Leadership Team, where we translated data into insights, and insights into a clear plan for supporting prioritised investment and culture development. To date, the culture blueprint continues to be a key asset for critical business decision making, including capability investment activities currently being deployed across the organisation.

We have worked closely with the CEO and EDHR of this leading energy supplier for the past 5 years in what is considered an Australian transformation success story. Initial performance culture work was in response to critical operational issues that saw major project overruns and operational compliance issues. These issues were damaging for the brand, being the subject of ministerial enquiry and public scrutiny. A new CEO was appointed, we were engaged with an initial focus to support immediate management of performance challenges. Over time this evolved to be focussed on supporting operating model transition and organisational transformation, as a response to market disruption and innovation opportunities that the executive sought to capitalise on. We worked across the domains of strategy, operating model change, work process and practice development, capability and leadership development. The improvement in performance culture was evidenced by increases in all quadrants of the Denison Culture Survey (by an average of more than 40 percentile points), converting key long term contracts, and gaining public acknowledgement from the Government for its trusted delivery and innovation.
